Why is goal setting important? (Part I)

Did you think about your goals for next week, next month, next year?

Maybe you thought about it, maybe not.

There are some reasons why setting goals is important and there are also reasons why many people don’t set goals.

“The trouble with not having a goal is that you can spend your life running up and down the field and never score.” – Bill Copeland

Why is goal setting so important?

Here is one reason for goal setting:

  • it gives you clarity where you want to go

Would you go on a major journey with no real idea of your destination?

To set a goal is like a roadmap – it guides you and takes you from where you are and where you want to go.
If you have no goals in life, you are spending your life running around and not achieving anything for yourself. In actual fact: if you don’t know where you want to go it doesn’t matter which road you take =)

Maybe you are doing a lot of things in your daily life, fullfilling everyone’s goals, but not yours. Or maybe you work in a job you don’t really enjoy, but it’s secure.

??? Do you have clarity in your life where you want to go???

The next post will give you more reasons why it’s important to set goals.
Maybe you want to post some on my blog. I would love to hear from you!
